I switched to OMRI Listed Hi-Energy Fish AZ 2-3-0 in 2018 and can truly see a change in healthy vigorous growth, coloring in the plant foliage and how brilliant colors seem to stand out more than before the change in brands. Using Hi-Energy as a foliage spray has notably lessened insect damage and pathogenic diseases. I use less Hi-Energy concentrate than the previous brand positively with better results. It is a clear coffee color, not murky, resulting in no waste or residue left at the bottom of the bottle. “I just wanted to share my experience working with Hi-Energy Fish 2-3-0 (HEF) this year. I have found it to be easy to work with, non-plugging and versatile. As a component of a liquid organic starter, it has been instrumental in getting the plants out of the ground quickly, supporting the microbial communities that support nutrient mineralization and plant health. When used in foliar applications, it helps the foliar spray adhere to the leaf as well as supports plant health.
HEF has also been observed to rapidly stimulate fungal activity in the soil. As a key soil function, the sooner fungal growth can be stimulated, the stronger the plant-microbe response and the greater potential the plant has for improved health, nutrition, insect/disease resistance and yield. Results of field trials in Ontario are still underway but the expectation is for fewer deficiencies, lower insect/disease pressure, greater frost resistance, higher test weight, fewer mycotoxins, better grain quality and higher yields – all of which put money in the farmer’s pocket, making the inclusion of HEF a no-brainer for those growers who have used it this year.

“We at BioKinetic Research began a series of tests to ascertain the correlation of fatty acid[fa] and volatile fatty acids [vfa] in relation to documented alternatives in the soil/bio amendment market that contribute to the aptly named TNT High Energy Fish 2-3-0. Our mission was to fully understand the organic potential and multifaceted reactions within the soil structure and microbiome. The natural fermentation sequence, pH, viscosity, emulsion properties indicated the anaerobic/acidogenesis was thorough with an amber/clear visual appearance. The tests were set up in one  liter beakers at multiple dilutions of HEF with H2O. To simulate varying application and potential soil reactions, we gave a quick light shear mixing and utilized progressive microbiological additions [select facultative anaerobes, two  microaerophilic, broad spectrum bacilli and light aeration] to simulate varying application and potential soil reactions [all tests were run @ ambient 71oF - 89 oF]. While the fragrance/odor was reasonably diminished (fixation/catalytic reaction), the rapid formation of bio surfactants was quite exciting from both a time and volume perspective. All this from a totally natural and organic base with minimal inputs, low time requirements, H2O and luck! Actually, we repeated the tests to get a better a baseline on volumes of HEF and micro's to create a reasonable starting point for formulation, application details, and to procure repeatable results. The HEF was so well processed it became apparent very quickly that the only luck involved was the initial observation time @ six  to eight  hours which narrowed our future observation times. After a series of twenty tests with twenty-four  successes and one  NA due to error, all times regardless of concentration were between the six  and eight  hour mark - with small variations in volumetric observations.
Why? Bio surfactants are amphiphilic, obviously nontoxic, highly degradable, acting as wetting and solubilizing agents, enhancing dispersion, increasing bio availability of hydrophobic molecules. This increase in hydrophilic/hydrophobic moiety impacts the tension of aqueous compounds at various levels including liquid/liquid, liquid/gas, and liquid/solid to facilitate increasing nutrient sequestration and availability [noted as part of interfacial boundary] to increase uptake and metabolism.
What? The HEF provides the base, as it is at the final phase or two [energy input] of completion towards bio surfactant [bio/enzyme/catalyst induced] formation and will proceed to a natural completion [as a % based on inter reaction with select soil-based organisms and compounds - as it does in other bio degradation scenarios], we selectively enhanced it to optimize the above benefits.

“We used hi-energy fish fertilizer (2-3-0) this year on our farm and wanted to share what we saw and the difference in yield from the year before. The difference from last year to this year was amazing. Our yield was up by about a 1/3, as was our time from seed to harvest which was close to 1/4 the time in the ground which we think is due to extreme amounts of bioactivity and bringing the soil alive. We saw a large growth in worms this year along with many other insects, such as spiders and really a whole ecosystem that is being built there in the soil. I thought it was quite incredible how little amount of fertilizer you really use for such a large area. We used less than two pints for right around a two-acre cultivated vegetable garden and only used the fish twice throughout our entire growing season which makes it quite coinvent when it comes to efficiency. You can definitely smell the potency of the product as soon as you crack the seal. It is quite strong so you want to be sure to get a good dilution on it. We diluted it in 330-gallon totes which worked quite well. We will be using it again this year and recommend anybody interested to give it a try and see what they think, I don't believe you will be let down. We will also be using it this year for our backyard personal grade this year as well since we got such good results. Hope this helps anybody that is thinking about using the product.”
